Time Management

June 10, 2007

I don’t have time. I’m too busy. There aren’t enough hours in the day. How many times have you heard those statements? Time management is one of the most important topics to a true leader. Ultimately, believers in Christ are accountable to God in how they spend every second of every minute of every hour of every day. If I have learned one thing about time management, it is this: time management is a matter of the heart. Our heart drives us to our desires. Our desires drive us to spend our time.

The biggest mistake I see occurs when people they think a tool (calendar system, smartphone, palm, etc.) will fix their lack of time management skills. In reality, most who rely solely on a tool don’t have the discipline to actually do the stuff thats on the tool. That being said, below are some resources that I have found helpful in learning to budget my time and get a hold of my days.

Decide what to do, then do it by Steve Pavlina

This is an excellent resource on time management. I don’t agree with Mr. Pavlina on his spiritual beliefs but his articles on sleep, productivity, people skills, and time management are great. A great example of common grace.Electronic calendar programs
